Hey y’all! I'm back right in time for spring! I needed a mental break from creating blog posts after my successful event, “Passion & Faith.” Aside from that, 2020 has been an interesting experience so far, to say the least. The fact that a lot of us have more than enough time on our hands can potentially make one feel more antsy than usual. Well, I’ve decided to make use of the extra time by giving you all this new blog post to read! Since staying at home is where we're spending a lot of our time… why not explore your closet? You can find your next outfit for when “social distancing” is a thing of the past!

If you attended my last event or have read any of my past blog posts, you know that I find it important to utilize what's already in your closet as much as it is to invest in new pieces. To be transparent - for this blog shoot I had what I like to call a “blogger’s block." I was having trouble putting an outfit together. The week of the shoot, I looked in my closet and laid out three different outfits. I didn’t buy anything new for this shoot. I wanted a “Palms Spring” vibe and I achieved just that.

I love how the look offers two variations of pink, yet they contrast and match at the same time. This collared button-up top (a simple piece) came from H&M. I wanted to give the shirt a bit more character by tying it up. I LOVE my satin-laced skirt with a slit, one of my favorites pieces in my closet. Satin skirts have made their rounds in the fashion world and seem to be an item that is staying in style for a while. I bought this from Topshop a while ago, but there are plenty of online stores that offer many colors and styles of satin skirts. This is a perfect skirt to dress up or down. I figured white would be a perfect pop of color, so I grabbed my heeled mules from (shoedazzle.com) to complete the look! I added in two pearl barrettes (perfect for a last minute touch to complete a look) and of course, my gold jewelry. This is the perfect brunch look! Add a cute gold chained or pearl small purse/clutch and you are ready for brunch with the girls or your boo.

Moral of the story is: please don’t be afraid to dig into your closet. Though my top was new, I had no intentions on wearing it for this shoot. You never know what you can come up with. I would have never thought to put these two pieces together until I actually dug into my closet and physically laid them out. If you are really into fashion or putting outfits together, I highly suggest trying this.

Here are a few Closet Hack Tips…

1.Try on your outfits. Sometimes different materials/fabrics might go together well in your mind but when you put them on together, they might not always be so appealing.

2. Keep versatile pieces in your closet.

3. Contrast colors! invest in pieces that Give your outfit some character. a few is fine to mix and match around.

4. Accessorize a piece (ex: a black dress) differently every time you wear it.

I hope this post served you well during this time of “social distancing.” Get all the rest you need during this time, but it's also important to dedicate time to what you want for your future, hobbies, or anything new that you have been wanting to try. As hard as it is I’m trusting that God will get us through this phase of 2020, but for now let us be grateful for what we have and use this extra time He has given us to find a new spark within ourselves! Remember, keep those #ideasloading!

With Love,

Paris Ysatis
