Grace

Wow - y’all we finally made it to the end of 2020. The longest, yet shortest year ever. I won’t go on about how 2020 was the “worst year ever,” which for the majority of us - it was. Although, I will say that if you are still breathing right now... you are blessed. 2020 taught me quite a few things, but as I write this, I’ve realized that by keeping yourself rooted in faith, seeking to figure yourself out and the process of getting to know yourself and taking care of yourself, and most importantly by God’s grace, you can weather any storm.
The word that has resonated with me the most throughout 2020 is, “Grace.”
The Merriam Webster definition of "grace," is: a state of sanctification enjoyed through divine assistance.
Biblical: The free & unmerited favor of God.
Through anything, God’s grace is sufficient in all of our weaknesses, even with a year like 2020. It's important to also extend the same grace God gives you, to yourself and yes... to your neighbors as well.
So you may be asking what grace has to do with fashion.
Well...everything.
It's important to give yourself the grace to be patient with your creativity, and the grace of loosening your self expectations, because we can be so consumed with another person’s journey.
Give yourself the grace to make mistakes and learn from them. Give yourself the grace to put your work out there and realize that you may have more to improve on and you may have to be okay with your work not being everyone's cup of tea. Give yourself grace if you aren’t where you want to be with your content. Give yourself grace when you are subconsciously comparing your sense of style to other's. Lastly, give yourself grace to be YOU in the midst of external factors and trials, and to continue pursuing your goals and utilizing your talents. There is only ONE of you and no one can do it like you - that is your power.
Just because this past year wasn’t how most of us envisioned it, doesn't mean we can't normalize embracing change and flipping the script. We have one life - let’s make the most of it. Regardless of what transpires in 2021, keep going, keep praying, keep your faith, keep striving towards your goals and dreams, keep being true to yourself, and keep striving to become a more refined version of you. He will bring you through.
Remember no matter what... keep those #ideasloading.
